Hi, I'm Mackenzie.

My passion for the body and its inherent design to heal fuels my desire to empower my clients through the work that we do together.  As a certified practitioner of Rolfing®, I  strive to help my clients find strength, stability, and comfort whether they are resting or in motion. We can find new pathways that bring joy back to your body through touch, assisted movement, and listening to the layers of your body schema.

Prior to becoming a Rolfer®, I earned my Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Cruz in Environmental Studies. In my final quarter, I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle to class. I experienced several injuries, but the most long-lasting was sciatic pain. Four years after the collision, I finally decided to see how Rolfing could help me be in less pain and I opted for the famous 10-Series. By the third session, not only had my sciatic pain nearly vanished, but I also began to notice that there were various other ways I could be more present and comfortable in my body.

Flash forward several years and I am a graduate of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute™. I completed a mentorship with Certified Advanced Rolfer™ Barb Maier and now share an office with her in Midtown Anchorage.

My background and education in science and medicine trained me to be a skeptic. As such, I decided on a 3 session trial to evaluate the benefits of Rolfing. After my first session with Mackenzie, I awoke the next morning and after moving for 10 minutes announced I was all in for the full 10 sessions. I have experienced improvements in posture, flexibility, and range of motion. I had bilateral knee replacements 2 years ago and have seen some increased range of motion and comfort in my knees. Mackenzie is professional, personable, and is able to explain and answer questions in a manner that is easily understandable. I have already referred two friends to Mackenzie and anticipate more."

This is my first experience with Rolfing. I was looking for a way to heal my body that did not include chemicals or surgery. I heard about Rolfing from a friend and the method of the practice resonated with me. Working with Mackenzie has been a blessing! I find her to be kind, warm-hearted, and gentle. Since working with Mackenzie, I have noticed positive results in my balance, strength, and fluidity of movement. Mackenzie's passion and deep understanding of body mechanics coupled with her vast knowledge of how to manipulate the body to its best advantage give me confidence that I am on the right track! I look forward to more sessions with Mackenzie as my body continues to improve."

My husband and I were referred to Mackenzie by friends we respect for their scientific and holistic approach to health. We had not heard about Rolfing previously, but had been in a lot of pain and were ready to invest in feeling better. We are so glad to have had our first sessions with Mackenzie and only “shelter in place” is keeping us from our subsequent appointments. We can’t wait for more sessions!"
Mackenzie seems to have an innate and skilled talent for pin-pointing muscles holding tension and providing the space and touch to evoke them to release; thus, bringing balance and harmony to the whole system. For example, I fell in love with my now fiancé the day after a session with Mackenzie! With the help of her hands, my heart was open and my body in alignment!"
